Has anyone here raced a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP the supercharged ones?? I know that they are fast, how did the race go..

funny you ask...i actually just got done racing one on I-45 today when i was heading home from school. he pulled up right next to me on the highway. i ignored him b/c, well hey, it is still a 4-door family car. anyways, he took off. for some reason, i felt the need to drop it into 3rd in order to beat him. i blew by him like he was standing still. i honestly believe that stock vs. stock, a 05 v6 would hang with, if not beat, an GTP. anyways, i too THOUGHT that they were fast so i came home to check on the specs...

Here you go:

Horsepower : 260 hp @ 5200 rpm
Torque : 280 lb-ft @ 3600 rpm
Redline : 6000 rpm

Top speed : 138 mph(electronically limited)
0-60 mph : 6.6 sec.
0-¼ mile : 15.0 sec @ 93.0 mph
60-0 braking distance : 130 ft
200 ft skidpad : 0.81 g

Unless you are just totally bored to death and feel like wasting a little gas, dont waste your time.

Hate to bring this back a month late.... I just now saw this.

A stock GTP will run right along side a GT auto. They run in the 14.7-15.1 range.

Although mods are expensive, the respond to them well.
With about 2k in mods, I got down to a 13.2@103. It only made 244 hp but made 340ft lbs. They are heavy cars but make more than enough torque to get them goin.

I don't know what 05 GT your talking about your GTP won't hang with my GT auto past 30, you must be talking about a v6.
