For the rear, I have 18x10" rims on order, and Nitto 295/45/18 tires. That will be about 11.6" wide. To get wider, you'd have to go to a 305 or 315 width tire.. and that's huge.

You couldgo with 18 x 10's with 295/45/18 tires withthe rightoff set and get them to sick out a little further andusespacers if your trying to get them outside of the wheel well.I would also put the clear bra material on the lower quarter panels to protect the paint.I stripped my 67 mustangs rear quarters down to bare metal running mickey thompson 50's back in the younger years withina few months.
I just had a flash back thinking about the old stang.... If you had Sloted Alum. mag wheels with M/T 50's, Highjacker air shocks and Thrush mufflers on a half way decent paint job... you were the $hit back in the day.

Lidio at Alternative Auto here in Michigan had a 10" wheel widend 2" and ran a set of 315's on the back and had no problem with the wheel rubbing on the inside of the wheel well. Our cars already have the inside of the lip rolled so we can run a wider tire. The only thing you have to worry about is the offset of the wheel you want. That will determin wether you want the tire outside of the rear qurter or tucked insde.
I like the old school style so i am running a 295 (28.5 in tall) in the rear and a 245 (27 in tall) up front on the stock springs and it gives the car an old school stance.

ok, i asked my automotive teacher and he said that i might have to get my axle shortened and my fender rolled out a bit. from whati understand i might just have to do just that. but not to sound just like a noob, but what is an offset?

first off a GT500 style front bumper, Bash Performance fenders, either a dual vent ram air hood or the KR hood. im not really sure what kind of bumper i want but it HAS to be one thats kind of like the nascar ones in the sense that it kinda hikes the rear up you know? for a spoiler i plan to get the cervini's ducktail style wind to give it that sleek look and last but not least for the side i noticed that it is a little bare and that spot where it should have a vent will. i plan to custom make a vent that will actually function as a brake cooler which will start at the fake vent and extend ALL the way to the wheel well.
