Remote start

RE: Remote start
I have a thread on most of the wiring needed for the hook up if your doing it yourself. Just search under my name for remote starter help. Are you a stick or auto? There are a few others here that were a great help to me. What all are you wanting the remote start do. Just remote start or alarm also?

RE: Remote start
One thing to consider. As I understand it, the remote starter will not work on our cars if you have the factory alarm/imobilizer/ani-theft systeminstalled on your car (as I do). It will conflict with the security system. If not, I'm positive Ford sells the remote start for our cars. Google it and you find numerous places to buy the OEM system. Also, there are other manufactures that sell the auto start and alarm system combos as well.
Revised: I guess I'm not totally right on the compatibiliy issue LOL. It seems with a little savy help, it can be installed with some cahanges to the OBC. Here is a link with comments; http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...e-starter.html
Also, Ford may now make the suposed security system by-pass module for the OEM starter system, not sure though.

RE: Remote start
I have an auto and alarm/imoblizer/anti-theft. My remote start works fine. I hooked it up myself. I bought an AsianWolf RS2000. They are a pretty good kit if you want just remote start. You'll also need an Interface module for the key. Check out the directed electronics 556SW for that. Here's the link for wiring it up: https://mustangforums.com/m_4772632/tm.htm. I don't have the wiring up for the interface module but it was really easy. Soon I'll try to revise that thread into a how-to but I'm not real good with write ups. I'll be happy to help you guys if I can though.

RE: Remote start
Sweet! I guess I'm going to look further into this. I thought I was screwed given I have the factory alarm. Of course it does still state in the owners manual that remote start systemsare not compatible. Well, we willjust have to see about that!
I'm guessing you now have two remote fobs? One OEM and the remote start.

RE: Remote start
I have one fob. The remote starter one. It has buttons on it to lock/unlock doors, pop trunk, remote start, and panic. It'll do everything the factory fob did plus start the car.
