2008 Shelby GT500 Ordered: Having second thoughts?? should I do it
I'd say hold off for now. If you leave it stock you will not have any performance improvement over your current car and it will likely ride and handle worse. We're now in April, and the '09's will be out in less than 6 months, so will the Challenger and hopefully Camaro, which should spell serious competition for the GT500 and likely lower pricing. You're car won't depreciate much more in the next 6 months so holf off. And you'll probably be paranoid parking the 500 anywhere!
thx Drbob...yeah I keep going back and forth...I drove a gt500...I truly love my car..thats the thing....I mean everyone already is asking me will I sell this or that off of it...I just came back from a seminar at work and the motivational speaker reminded me in his own way why I love my car....(No he did not talk about my car in particular) he just made some sense...Good news is I have 3-4 weeks to think about and research this...thx guys....I know some people will think I am an idiot for considering tosell my car....and most will think I am an idiot for not just getting the gt500....and some of you think I am idiot for even wasting your bandwidth with my own personal dilemma..
....anyways...I am leaning towards keeping my car, albeit the vote says not to....but again...3-4 weeks to consider it and price out everything..make sure insurance is ok...make sure I can get a good % finance rate...make sure I can even sell my car for close to what I want...ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!![:@]...thx for listening and voting....

just curious on what kind of payments your looking at and how much your insurance will go up?

I think a lot of it depends on how much time and effort you put into your current car. I did a lot of work on mine and had a lot of great memories with my car. Once it was totaled a month ago, I went out and bought a GT500. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered, so I would have to reserve judgement on the difference performance wise. If I had a choice, I'd rather have my old car back. Don't get me wrong, the GT500 is a great car, but it just isn't the same. If you've driven a GT500 and are still undecided, then I think you should stick with your current car IMO. It's a beautiful car.
BTW my insurance went up about $120 every six months.
