2008 Shelby GT500 Ordered: Having second thoughts?? should I do it
I voted no just because you've put so much time and effort into your car alraedy.
Somebody else mentioned the fact that prices in teh future will fall because of competition, and I think that's true too, so yeah. For me, I'd keep your car.

Finances aside (That's your business), I would say do it.
Even though I originally didn't really think the GT500's were worth the premium money they were commanding, I would say that at MSRP they certainly are.
I've spent a lot on my GT, as have you and a lot of our guys and it'll run with a GT500, but it'll never be a 4v 5.4 and it'll never be a GT500.I could have just bought a GT500 and ran it stock enjoying the same fun factor asI have now but without worrying about breaking the motor or warranty issues.
It's easy to look back and see how things could be different, but basically, for me, if I could get a GT500 for MSRP and sell my GT for a decent price I'd definately do it..................

a couple of things to think about
1. your insurance for a person under 25 for a brand new cobra is going to be astronomical
2. They are a "high theft" car so i would be worried where ever i brought it
3. thats alot of money for a young guy like u to have on your back but if you car do it
go for it im putting a good amount down on my gt and not killing my self to make payments

Can you tell me if your friend is still taking orders? All the local places around here can't put in any more orders and I'm having trouble finding someone who can! Also I understand he's going to help you more than me...so how would he want from someone he doesn't know for an 08 GT500? THANKS!!!

As it was stated before you only live once. Get the GT500 and sell the GT. If you don't it will always be in the back of you mind, what if or I wish I had when I had the chance. You will also have a vehicle that will hold it's value, as it will always be a Shelby GT500. One other thing Mr. Shelby isn't going to live forever and when that day comes the value will jump. Hopefully the personal value will be way beyondany dollar value by that time. Whatever you choose good luck.
I'll say one more thing TJ, then I'll keep quiet (sure). If you keep your car, the chances that you'll regret it are slim to none, b/c you can (at least for now) always go out and buy the GT500 if you really want to. There's no reason to think you'll be in any worse financial shape in a year or two than you are now. And if you are, then you wouldn't want to have those payments anyway. But if you sell your car there's very little chance you'll ever be able to get it back, and that my friend, gives a good possibility of regret.
Secondly as the above poster said
I believe that already applies to your car.
I hate always beingthe voice of reason, but someone has to.

I was was in the same boat than you when the GT500 came out. I was lucky and could afford to keep both.
The 500 will give you BIG numbers after you start playing with it and you WILL.
It's tough call and you hesitation is perfectly understandable. You're the one stuck with the regrets of either decision..[:@]

thx Drbob...yeah I keep going back and forth...I drove a gt500...I truly love my car..thats the thing....I mean everyone already is asking me will I sell this or that off of it...I just came back from a seminar at work and the motivational speaker reminded me in his own way why I love my car....(No he did not talk about my car in particular) he just made some sense...Good news is I have 3-4 weeks to think about and research this...thx guys....I know some people will think I am an idiot for considering tosell my car....and most will think I am an idiot for not just getting the gt500....and some of you think I am idiot for even wasting your bandwidth with my own personal dilemma..
....anyways...I am leaning towards keeping my car, albeit the vote says not to....but again...3-4 weeks to consider it and price out everything..make sure insurance is ok...make sure I can get a good % finance rate...make sure I can even sell my car for close to what I want...ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!![:@]...thx for listening and voting....
