TJ, if anyone on this forum deserves a ne GT500, it's you
I assume you'd get a blue one with white stripes?

I think a lot of it depends on how much time and effort you put into your current car. I did a lot of work on mine and had a lot of great memories with my car. Once it was totaled a month ago, I went out and bought a GT500. I'm still waiting for it to be delivered, so I would have to reserve judgement on the difference performance wise. If I had a choice, I'd rather have my old car back. Don't get me wrong, the GT500 is a great car, but it just isn't the same. If you've driven a GT500 and are still undecided, then I think you should stick with your current car IMO. It's a beautiful car.
BTW my insurance went up about $120 every six months.

yeah thats the part I dont know yet...I cant get an accurate insurance quote from Geico until Ford officially issues me a VIN number for the GT500 on order which I was advised I will get this week....then i can start the insurance search etc...payment...it will obviously depend allot on my interest rate...but I am looking at financing around 36-38k with 10k down payment....so we will see...I got time to think it over

just curious on what kind of payments your looking at and how much your insurance will go up?

Its not about the cost of the Gt500, or how special your current car is.... Its about your financial situation. If it confortably allows for getting rid of the GT for a GT500, then definately do it. And thats assuming you already have a house and everything....

Can you tell me if your friend is still taking orders? All the local places around here can't put in any more orders and I'm having trouble finding someone who can! Also I understand he's going to help you more than me...so how would he want from someone he doesn't know for an 08 GT500? THANKS!!!

Like previously said...
Only if you don't wind up in a bind financially. In that case, GET IT!
Remember, if you decide to sell this car later and Carroll Shelby checks out on us,this car will be worth a bundle.

a couple of things to think about
1. your insurance for a person under 25 for a brand new cobra is going to be astronomical
2. They are a "high theft" car so i would be worried where ever i brought it
3. thats alot of money for a young guy like u to have on your back but if you car do it
go for it im putting a good amount down on my gt and not killing my self to make payments
