Back in the day, racers would paint their hoods in flat black to cut down on glare.

I think having a hood or wide stripes painted flat black would make waxing time a bit easier (just make sure not to get any wax on the flat black) but yes, after lots of sun exposure it could deteriorate. But I guess you could just whip out a can of spray paint to fix it!

Did anyone see the GT500 that was all flat black???
