Holy crap! I was just thinking, after I read the AJ Foyt Coyote model thread, "why there isn't a Dan Gurney Mustang", well here it is!!
I'm in love, the best tribute model yet, I like it a little better than the PJ car, and this blows away the tacky AJ Foyt car!
Wish I could buy one!!! Damn I like that car!

I think the car is hideous! The vinyl stripes look tacky in my opinion, and the interior looks like cheap velour![:'(][:'(]The dealers are probably going to rip people off by playing out the 300 number.Oh well, there's an a$$ for every seat![8D]I'd personally take a PJ over this, if for nothing more than the Watts Link system. I'd also take a KB or Whipple over any Saleen S/C, due to proven better performance and horsepower.

The Gurney Car is unique. I don't feel it is a poor follow-up to the PJ at all. They made the car look just like Gurney's old stang, and they met his three requests.
1. His car had to be faster than the PJ's and it is with 465 horses
2. He wanted more color options, and he has three: red, white, and blue.
3. He tuned in the suspension HIMSELF, he took a S281 supercharged and honed in the suspension to his liking and Saleen is going to tune all his cars based on that one.

The PJ was cool, but this car's story is awesome and i dont think anyone should judge the look until we see it in person. Saleen is not in the business of putting out shabby cars, and Dan Gurney has approved the car, so I don't think it should be sold short.
Anyone who buys one will have a very limited car, no matter what color you will have a 1 of 100 in that color! Way more exclusive that a Shelby.

I said they were limited, not the most limited. You have to make enough cars to go around to the people who want them.
Also, Saleen hasn't had too many cars just sitting there. They are a premium brand and being exclusive is something they use to up the desirability of their products. And most people can't afford to buy a mustang that expensive. Others would rather have a vette for that amount of money. It takes a true mustang enthusiast, not a tuner,to buy a car like this.
This car is just hitting the media, and i dont think Saleen will have any problem selling them quick. 30+ are already presold just to past saleen customers.
