looking for ideas to help kids with arthritis
We need help. I am a volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation in Arizona. We have a great opportunity to raise money for kids with arthritis and can't seem to make it take off. A local Ford dealership is helping us out with a raffle for a new 2005 mustang, but we are having a hard time selling the tickets. Any ideas for how we might sell the tickets? They were hoping to sell 2,500 tickets, but have sold less than 200 right now. The drawing is on May 21st. We really don't know what to do. Can anyone help?

RE: looking for ideas to help kids with arthritis
He didn't ask this question to get a bunch of smart assed answers. He said KIDS with arthritis, not 80 year olds with osteoporosis. These are diseases such as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, reiter's syndrome, etc. Not raising money for kids who just get aching knees. I doubt that I can help you with any ideas that you haven't already had yourself, but if it were my fundraiser, I would hit the grocery stores, malls, and local area businesses. Talk to the owners of restaurants and you will most likely get a good number of donations. If that doesn't work, try the local colleges... Sit outside a guys dorm and I have no doubt that you'll sell your share. Best of luck.

Have you tried calling the local radio and TV news shows? Also, take out a newspaper add. Talk to the Ford dealership and see if you can set up a table on a weekend or two (passive solicitation) and then have the TV/radio/newspaper mention that you will be there on xx dates. Also, see if the dealership will let you put a one or two line blurb in their weekly spreads in the papers. The dealership will probably like the additional traffic and you will get some good exposure. Just some thoughts....

this is not the forum for this.. there are many good causes out in the world.. but I come here to bs about mustangs.. not buy tickets for fund raising things.. if I wanted that I would have hit the united way website. so dont post it unless the kids are running in the olympics with prochargers in their hand.

Try hitting up your local privately owned businesses. Most business owners have kids themselves and are always willing to donate for something like this. They can write off for tax purposes (at least I think!!), they feel good about helping kids, and they get a chance to win a new Stang.
