Default Exhaust Question

Im sure these are a little noobish.. but

What's the difference between the o/r x and h? I know some people say they can smell the exhaust inside the car with the o/r h.... why?

And, which would be louder with a set of SLP LoudMouth axle backs? or would those be loud enough on their own?

And, does just using the clamps work fine or if I weld the pipes on, would it sound/be better?

Thanks

The X will give a little more horsepower than the H but will sound more raspy. The H sounds deeper. It's closer to the old muscle car sound which is why a lot of people choose the H over the X.

Both the o/r X & H are loud enough on their own but the X with theLoudmouth has been known to be too loud, obnoxious and raspy. If you get theLoudmouth then go with the H-pipe.

Most people are fine with just the clamps althoughit would probably sound better having a closed/welded system where there's no chance of leaks around the clamps. I'm using clamps and haven't had a problem though.

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking about just starting with the loud mouth axle backs and if i wanted it louder, replacing the pipes... I asked about the welding because my uncle has been welding for around 35-40+ years and i could get him to do it for free if it made it sound better or decreased the chance of leaks...

Why do people smell the exhaust inside the car... I wouldnt want that!

I am running BBK headers, Pypes o/r X-pipe, and Flowmasters and just used clamps. No exhaust leaks and no smell of exhaust in the car.
