Replacing Shaker 500 w/factory Sirius, Can I keep the antenna?
I've decided to swap out the Shaker 500 for a Pioneer FH-P8000BT. I'd like to add the sirius (or ideally xm) tuner that's compatible with the new head unit and still be able to use the trunk-mounted antenna from the factory. Does anyone know if this will work?
Also, where do they mount the Sirius tuner that comes with the Shaker?

I don't know the answer to your first question - but I can't imagine that the connection would be different for the antenna.
The factory Sirius unit is installed in your trunk, passenger side, behind the panel. I'm not sure which side the cable to connect to the back of the Shaker runs but is should be fairly obvious once you open it up.

Thanks Jim,
Sounds like it'd be pretty easy to get at and check the connection then! I was concerned that the sirius box was hiding somewhere behind the dash and I wouldn't know until I was well into the install...

Ok - I located the factory Sirius tuner in the trunk and pulled the wire to the antenna. I brought my portable XM Radio out and plugged it into the factory Sirius antenna and sure enough it works!
