Default cheating the odometer?

hey guys, just something i meant to post a while ago but forgot about it. when i put my new wheels on they were way bigger than stock. so i had to use my xcal 2 to change the revs per mile in the computer. it occured to me while i was changing the revs per mile that if i doubled the actual revs per mile, wouldnt that be a way of cheating the odometer into only showing half my actual mileage? because i would really be travelling 2 miles when it reads one. or is there something in the computer that stops this from happening?

oh, and no i wouldnt actually do this, but im curious if its that easy because if it is im gonna be a lot more leery next time i buy a low k car!

Yes, you can trick your car. If the speedometer is showing lower than your actual speed (through a variety of methods), the car will think it has travelled fewer miles. Also, the mileage will appear less. I accidentally did this once with the gear ratio - knew something was wrong when the electronic mpg calculator was showing 18 on the highway instead of 23!

If you also adjust the gears to say 4.55 or the highest it goes you can too. Not that I've done that

Max Rev's Highest ratio. Roughly doing 80 will say 50 ish, its not really half. 50 miles to empty comes on at a quarter of a tank tho, and cruise wont work until about 45-48 real speed, vs 30.
Not that I've done it either

Dont do it in an Auto tho.

Yes.
+1 to trying it with an auto. This is a 5-speed mod only.
