I haven't posted in a while... but this thread really bugs me.
You guys are talking about one of the dirtiest practices here. And illegal. Sure, the 5.4 guy in this thread is lazy, I can live with that. Considering his mods, hes probably rich, and chances are he'll keep his car forever or sell it cheap to some kid in 10 years. No big deal.
But for everyone else what they're doing is setting someone up to be badly screwed 3 years or more from now when a poor teenager tries to buy their car used. They think they're getting low miles and they're not too worried about replacement parts and all of a sudden they have a car they can't afford.
I always tell people once you buy a car then write off all that money spent. Its gone. The end. Anything you get when you sell it is just extra spending money. So don't screw people who try to buy it later to make an extra buck. You (probably) got an honest deal when you bought the car now do it for the next buyer.
