Fix-a-flat and Spare Tires
1. Anyone ever used fix-a-flat before?
2. Does it damage the tire or the wheel?
3. Do you have to clean out some sort of residue once you get the tire to a shop to be repaired?
The can says don't use for Z-rated tires, so I'm hesitant to throw a can in my trunk just in case. I figure a compressor doesn't do much except for allow you to get to a shop nearby in case you have a very, very slow leak.
4. Also, anyone ever hear that you should NOT remove the stock spare from its compartment in the Mustang's trunk because doing so comprimises the rear crash safety of the car??? Is this just a rumor? If it's true, it seems odd that Saleen would remove the spare from the compartment. However, it may have some crediblity since I heard the GT500s come with a hard styrofoam insert to go in the spare compartment.
I tried the "search" function to get answers, but is doesn't seem to be working right now.
