Rim help

smokestang,
You are a little off base, While there are MANY that will agree the differences in rims size will cost performance.. One needs to clearify what EXACTLY what performance loss one claims change in rim size makes.
This has been beat up for years and we ALL are eachintitled to our personal opinions. BUT in my S/C Mustang IS MUCH quicker with the 285/30/20 over the 235/55/17 BECAUSE THERE IS MUCH MORE TRACTION!! It also handles CORNERS much better with those same 285/30/20 in the rear and 255/35/20 in the front. IF you don't believe it to bad you aren't closer as I would enjoy showing anyone that thinks like this!!! Now IF I wanted a soft cushy ride I'd have bought a Cadilac or some other NON sports car for it's ride qualities!
As for looks, yes we all have our opinions also and those are well and good too. You (no one in particular)can do with your car as you wis and I will do with my car as I wish..
The biggest thing I have noticed on these forumsis MOST of the nay sayers about 20" rims HAVE NEVER BOLTED A SET UP AND ACTUALLY DRIVEN THEM HARD. How about do a little looking and seehow manyhigh performance cars are coming with 19" or 20"rims vs 17" rims.
Yep modernSaleen, Roush, Vettes, Vipers, and Porsche, ALL don't handle, have no traction and thier rims are heavy and look ugly....
I can seesome of thislogic! NOT!!

I've seen some cars that look good with 20's, and some that look pretty fugly.
I've always preferred the look of more rubber than rim.
I would like to lower mine to get rid of that ridiculous stock gap, but I don't see myself putting anything on bigger than 18".
But that's just me and my Stang, do with yours as you wish.
