Default leather seats/ weight reduction....

Call me crazy as i know some will, but i am not a fan of the leather seats especialy since they are so heavy. How much less do the cloth ones wiegh without motors and crap in it because moving the seat manualy doesnt bother me, i am just looking to save some wieght, i might ethier get used cloth ones or just get racing seats.

Now does anyone think the wieght savings from this is not worth it?

As for the back seat i really wanna take it out, this is a dumb question i know, but since i would leave the back seat belts in can i still put a baby seat in there if i needed too?

According to Ford the power seat is ~4.0 pounds heavier, and the airbag option adds ~4.1 pounds. Leather adds ~5.0. That's for the car, so if you had the power/leather/airbag pair and went to manual/cloth pair, you would drop ~13.1 pounds total. The leather weight probably includes the rear seat surfaces.

check page 27 of this:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/assets/p...tang_specs.pdf

Aftermarketreclining back seats would likely reduce weight by ~10 pounds or more per seat (20 total), andfixed backaftermarket would reduce it a further ~10 pounds each.

you can't really put a baby seat in there with the seats out
where do you get aftermarket back seats?

I'm surprised there would be any difference worth noting. Slide says 5 lbs difference. Thats still more than I would have thought. I bought a set from NewTakeOffs, and plan on keeping them in storage for the next 15 yrs or so. The whole box is fairly light. Hell, removing the front floor mats would make a bigger difference in weight.
