Guage help
I just bought a set of sport comp II's electric oil pressure, water temp, and volt. I have done mechanical but not electric before. Does anyone have any tips they can throw my way? I can wire into the factory sending units correct?

Don't believe you can... autometer sells sending units that go with the sport comp oil water temp gauges.
Easiest way to install water= radiator hose adapter oil= oil filter sandwich adapter. make sure you get the correct size I just grabbed pics to show waht they looked like.

Dont waste your time with that water temp piece. You can plug the electric sender into the block. There is a hole on the drivers side of the block right under the rear most freeze plug. Take the hex head bolt out, get the metric adapter from autometer, and install there. Make sure the car is cold and you have somthing to catch the coolant. What I did was mount the sender to the adapter first (use teflon tape) here. Then pull out the plug and quickly insert the new piece. The adapter has a crush washer, no need for teflon at the block.
For the oil pressure, I used a NPT L fitting. It has 2 ports on it. I used an elbow on the side port for the factory sender, and ran the autometer of the straight port. Worked great. If you dont re-use the factory sender you will have to ground it out so the gauge inside the car activates. If you dont you will get a low oil pressure warning message and the guage will stay red.
The sandwich adapter works but it make getting you oil filter off a bitch with less then half an inch clearance from the swaybar.
Hope this helps

RE: Guage help
The L fittings are generally brass. 2senders plusthe length of the adapter make it prone to cracking or breaking with engine vibration. I'd hate for it to break and have a stream of high pressure oil pumping out ofmy block. (especially if you drive it like you stole it ) There are several different thickness sandwich adapters. They also allow you to install an oil temp gauge sender should you wish to install one at a later date.
