It should mimic the OEM shifter rod location exactly.
Maybe take a trip to the dealer and crawl under a GT
and take some pics for reference?

old looks like the factory one the new one is what i have and it is billet and biggerand looks like a pro 5.0 or steeda

If the head of the screws holding the handle on are facing the driver's side, you need to turn the handle around. In the instructions, the Image in the disassembly section is correct while the text in the installation instructions is incorrect. If it's backwards, your shift handle will also sit way over to the driver's side, rather than in the middle of the shift bezel.
