Fortunately there is a shop within a half-hour of my house that has had winning cars at SEMA for three years running. They did all the work for me, and no, it wasn't cheap. At 16, you'd better have either rich parents, or a deceased relative that left you some loot. I spent ~$7k for everything I had done.
Oh ok now I know where you got the trust from. 7K for the entire job? It's a big amount but if you think of the work they had to do it kinda equals itself out. Also it's painted so you don't have to worry about them chipping etc. etc. I clearly cannot afford to have my stripes painted now but I definitely will later on. I plan on keeping this car for a LONG time. Thanks for the info and pics too.

It was more than just painting stripes..

Shave antenna
Shave washer nozzles
install side exit exhaust
install new rear valence
install new side skirts
repair rock damage to hood
repaint front chin spoiler
install speedster covers
install convertible bar
paint and stripe everything above
custom sub install in trunk, using existing equipment, and adding a 1 farad cap
transport in enclosed trailer to car show
detail entire car and babysit for 3 days for car show

I'm sure there was some other stuff too, but I don't remember it all.

Wow. So all in all it was worth it. At least it sounds like it to me.
