hey guys, my hood got a little dent in it and i went to a shop and the guy said that itll be 700 dollars just to repaint the hood because when he pops the dent, the paint will crack. what do you think? im thinking it will just be cheaper to buy a new hood altogether. ughh...advice?

 

a takeoff hood yes, cheaper by far, any aftermarket hood is going to cost 1000 minimun though with hood, prepped and painted

 

Find someone in your area that does paintless dent repair first. See what he says. Usually the price is decent too.

If he agrees with the body shop guy, there are plenty of hoods to pick from. Even stock ones already painted. I have one I'll eventually sell....not black though sorry.

Check ebay and craigslist too.

Get a quote from an honest shop and you'll feel better.

Also, if the paint itself isn't damaged, it's time for the paintless people.
I use the Dent Wizard and it works if they can get behind the panel.
Give them a try as well.
