how many of us use stock tunes or 87 oct tunes

I sure do, and now especially since gas is astronomical.

The vast majority of the stations around here price91 octane 20 cents higher per gallon than 87 octane (and 89 octane 10 cents higher). I filled up yesterday at $4.79 for 91, 87 was priced at $4.59. My13.5 gallon fill-up was $65.00. If I had used regular it would have been $62.29. That's $2.71 more for premium. I'll stick with premium.

The interesting statistic is that at today's prices premium ispriced only 4.4% higher than regular. Back when gas was $1.59 premium was going for the same 20 cents per gallon more or 12.6% higher. Percentage-wise premium is actually a better deal today than it was then. And the difference in price on a single fill-up has not changed one cent.

topbliss - I was agreeing with you - 4 weeks is not enough time for gas to spoil. I was only disagreeing with your statement that higher octane gas was not sitting longer when station owners are saying it is.

Whipple says not to use "Octane Boost" because it fouls the plugs, and has little effect on the octane rating.

What do you folks think of the Halo Spark plugs? Also, I was searching fuel saving tips and found a page on Ethos fuel reformulator. It says put 1 ounce in the gas tank for each 10 gallons of fuel but also to put 1 ounce in your oil also for each quart in the engine. Has anyone used this or is this another snake oil additive?
