Vert or Coupe ?!?!

You've made this exact statement on here before but I've yet to see any numbers to back it up. Instead of saying "you can look it up" can you provide us with the info since you know where it is? I find it hard to believe that an auto vert is 2 tenths quicker than a 5 speed coupe as you've stated before, but I'd love to be proved wrong. Thanks.

Actually,a stock GT vert is faster then a stock GT coupe. yes it weighs more, however, the extra weight from added structure support is right where it needs to be. Over the rear wheels. The GT vert is 2 tenths faster in the qtr. (Automatic) And as they say, "you can look up"!
BTW. Get the vert!

The extra mass associated with convertiblization ordinarily shows up as a debit in the acceleration column, but that wasn't the case here. Even though our droptop tester had only 300-plus miles on the odo when it went to the test track, at 5.0 seconds to 60 mph, it was quicker than either of the coupes we've tested, which ran 5.2 seconds and 5.1, respectively. The convertible also turned in the best quarter-mile time—13.7 seconds at 103 mph. That's just a 10th quicker than the coupes, and trap speeds were essentially the same, but it does indicate that the 4.6-liter SOHC 24-valve aluminum V-8 doesn't mind a little extra mass

Guess im one of the few that say Coupe
Guess im one of the few that say Coupe
im with ya with the coupe, its more muscle car and less...well...girly (?) i mean the coupe handles better stock and the lines are a lot cleaner, if you want a convertible why not just get a camry convertible? better gas mileage and it would look just about as muscular as a mustang convertible...sorry but coupe is just the way to go

Ill put my vert against that black coupe of yours anytime. As far as looks go: If both of our cars are stopped at a light who do you think has a more muscle-car looking Mustang? I got news for you - it wont be you....

If the Mustang didn't come with a rag top, I wouldn't be a Mustang owner. We've looked at just about all other convertibles on the market, from Volvo to Nissan and chose the Stang. To make sure that it was what we really wanted, we rented a V6 vert forthe weekend. A couple of months later, we bought the GT.
As far as the vert being a 'girly' car and white to boot, maybe I should paint some f%$#*ing rainbows on it too... LOL. Hey, I hear it from my coworkers all the time, those who drive 10 year old Accords and K-cars.
