A Civic Si just barely ran a 14.9 in a MotorTrend article, and using the same source for a GT's time, we get 13.6. That puts a GT in the next zip code against a Civic Si.My new daily driver is a 275 hp Caliber SRT4, which would blow the doors off their Civic Si. That said, my CSRT4 isn't is nowhere near faster than a stock GT, not even close.
All due respect to your friends, they don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. Furthermore, only a moron has to dismiss a perfectly serviceable performance car like the GT to make themselves feel better about what THEY are driving.
Buy a GT, and school them. The GT is an infinately better platform for racing and modifying than a Civic.

Ugh civics. The only GT I own is a 96 Mitsubishi 3000GT but that or my 07 Mustang V6 could take most of them. And BOTH would look a hell of a lot better even if they lost. That being said...the 3000GT is getting a Mopar (440 engine/727 trans/8 and 3/4 rear end) swaped into it at the moment. MMMmmm sounds so sexy.
