your dealer usually has to reprogram them which costs about $30-$40

Or buy your own $14 training tool and do it yourself.

Having pressure in the trunk doesnt work! I just got 18in DD bullitts last week and had to ride home with the old 17s in the back of the car and still got TPMS alarm ( all 4 17s were fully inflated) so i call BS on pressurized sensors in a tire or tube riding in the trunk! Its no big deal to just hit the reset button when you get in the car.

What happens if you get into an accident and kill someone because of a tire that was not properly inflated (or something along those lines)??. I'm sure you can have a hefty lawsuit or government action against you.

Play it safe and do it the right way - my opinion of course

It would depend on the situation. If the tire went down from a manufacturer flaw, they would be liable.

I bought my aftermarket wheels and the TPMS light went off. I just bout a TPMS kit from americanmuscle.com and the wheel dealer put the TPMS from my stock wheels into my new wheels. There is no need to have the dealer do anything with it my light turned off after.
