Default Off Balance Flywheel, Harmfull?

I just got my car back from the trans shop yesterday. My dad picked it up for me because i was working and said it drove a little " funny" He said it was "noisy and Vibrating". So i ran out all happy, jumped in, and pressed the clutch in, and it went straght to the floor. After pumping 20 or so times, i got pedal back but spongey. After more pumping it was better< problem one. Then, i went out for a drive and noticed it was REAL chattery, almost like they didnt resurface the flywheel even. I know a new clutch will take time for break in and wear but this was rediculus<- problem 2. I called them right up talked to the owner and he told me to bring it up and i was there 15 mins later and the shop was LOCKED UP and closed with noone there. I Ended up being more mad at them than anything and DONT even want to take it back. They had the car for 3 weeks to change a clutch and put in a new throwout assembly. The car does shift real nice with the new steeda, but i can tell that the flywheel is off. With the car in neutral, a 4k RPM rev will vibrate the car and shako in accociation with the RPM's that it never did before. When taking off it feels like it has a grippy spot on the flywheel. It doesnt seem to bad and ive already taken it up to 6800 rpm a few times and it does fine, but shakey. I just wanted to save myself a few hours in the garage, by having someone else do it, Now i will have to do it myself anyways. And im sure it will be done in 1 weekend and not 3 weeks. Do you think the car is safe to run with a flywheel a tad out of balance, or should i not even stress my clutch and just drop the trans and put in a NEW flywheel? Could the vibrating potentially hurt anything else? -Jon

Tear up your Crankshaft Bearings for sure if the flywheel isn't balanced properly ...

Yea, don't run it. You'll run the closest main bearing out first but the risk of crank breakage is the most frightening and immediate.

Are the Flywheels on our cars located on the crank in a certian way? Do they ride on a hub, or doweled, do the bolts line it up. Im wondering in the shop just didnt put it on correctly. They told me they " send out there flywheels" to be surfaced somewhere else. Im going to end up just picking up a new one anyways. -Jon
