Overdrive?
This is a really sad question but on the side of my V6 gear stick is a button, which I'm pretty sure is overdrive. The only thing is I don't know when to use it. I know it makes the engine use less RPMs but it also uses higher gears and makes the engine work harder. So when is the best time to use Overdrive?
Generally leave it in overdrive all the time (with the light off), except in traffic, winding country roads, racing or just fast driving. When the light is on overdrive is off. Increases MPG a lot at highway speeds. Have fun

i think its the other way around overdrive makes the engine shift up to keep the car at a lower RPM to save gas when overdrive is turned off a little orange light will appear on the dash immediatly after turning it of u will se the rpms jump up any were from 500-1000 this is kinda like a high preformance mod but do be warned you gas will seem to dissapere as if its water
I love having the O/D for the L.A. trips I take, especially coming back down the Grapevine
It does guzzle quite a bit of gas but, to me, its ALL worth it... Oh and I use it mostly for going uphill to answer the OPs question
