its like $36 for the S&B filter and i would rather just buy that every 10-15k and be done with it. Its very cheap and you are guaranteed not to over oil the filter.

I was also worried about the re/over oiling. Seemed like a pain considering there are "dry" filters out there that filter better.

I purchased a couple of amsoil synthetic "dry" filters for my C&L cai to get me past 50k on the car. They ran about $70 ea. but are the best you can buy...

IFyou earn $75,000 a year, your time is worth $39 an hour. I have a pretty sound economic reason to pull out the checkbook instead of that filter cleaning kit. It may be a waste of your money though, depending on how much you make.
DAMN, then my time is worth approx $45/hour. I'm sitting here thinking how to explain this to my gf... lol!

What happens if you over-oil it? I used a lot of that spray oil to make sure it went down into the valleys.

Although I've yet to clean and re-oil my Stang's filter,my SUV's oiled filter would wreck havoc onthe MAF every time I cleaned and oiled it. Any components downstream of the filter may become contaminated from the over oiling. I used to throw the same CEL every 3-5k miles despite my attempts and using less oil. I eventually swapped back to a paper filter.

Maf sensor contamination and who knows what else. I've never used a oiled filter with the cai's in either my truck or car. Always found a "dry" filter via AEM or (currently) amsoil.

If an air filter can't do it's job without being oiled down then I don't trust it...

I just went out to look at it. There is some oil underneath the filter on the car where it drained out/off of the filter since I put it on. I'm just going to leave it alone. If I get a code, I'll clean the TB and MAF sensor and get a new filter.

You may not have any problems. If you want a "dry" syntheticmedia filter, you can purchase an amsoil EAAU4090model filter which will fit your cai.
