Finally switched to my 93 octane tune
Well for over a year now I have just been running my 87 tune from Evolution Performance. I have greatly enjoyed the performance increase and overall fun of the tune. Well today since gas prices dropped, I put in my 93 tune. First impressions are: my time got faster getting up to 80 mph in 3rd gear, and it feels a lot smoother driving. I won't know if it increases my gas mileage, but don't really care about that since I only drive less than a mile roundtrip to work every day. Other than that it really doesn't feel that much faster than my 87 tune. I still have a 93 extreme tune to put on to see if that helps any.
Also on another subject. I put in a relay to make my traction control set to off automatically and I can even turn it back on just by pushing the button. Very easy install to. So just an idea for anyone that wants tcs off, but still wants to be able to turn it back on in bad weather or whenever they want to.

luckydawg that sounds like a great idea. I hate turning TCS off with the tune because it triggers the warning light in your display so it's always staring back at you. How do you install this relay? I've never done anything like that before. If you want to do a writeup on it with some pictures I would be appreciative.

You MUST post a "HowTo" on the TCS relay mod!
The difference I notice with my Brenspeed 93 tune vs. the 89 tune I typically run is that she winds up stronger in the upper RPM range with the 93 tune. But for more all-around driving I prefer the 89 tune. And there's no way I've noticed any MPG gain with the 93 tune, even WITH my strict record-keeping, since I'm hammering the b**ch too often when the 93 tune is loaded...

RE: Finally switched to my 93 octane tune
I just put in my Mac CAI and the 93 tune from VMP tuning. Very impressive, I can catch rubber in the first three gears (2007 V8 auto tranny). Seems to make the automatic run somewhat like a manual, especially when you get on it. I may go to the 89 tune simply because the gas pedal is sooo sensitive, especially when starting from a stop. My son was impressed when he heard the tires chirp in 2nd and 3rd. Tried to do it from third to fourth, but ran out of road before it shifted into fourth gear. I'll drive it like this for a while before I change tunes.

RE: Finally switched to my 93 octane tune
I just changed from my 87 VMP tune to 93 about a week ago because gas prices were going down and i figured i'm only paying an extra 3 bucks per tank anyway. She DEFINITELY feels better, drives much smoother and pulls harder even when i'm not stomping it. And as of now i'm getting about 23.5 mpg (got that from the computer and from calculating it out). i was getting 23.8 with the 87...but with the 87 i was constantly babying her and driving like a grandma. with the 93, i'm driving like normal (not constantly stomping or babying, but having fun once in a while) and getting 23.5...fair tradeoff i'd say. Gonna wait til I get some dispensible money and get some tunes from BAMAchips, probably 87 perf, 89 torque and 93 race
