It must suck when someone goes to deep stage and they go to far and get the red. I've seen it in dirt drag racing when I was a little kid. Guys got pretty pissed over that kind of crap.

It would be very unlikely for someone to go red from rolling in too far. When you deep stage you roll in far enough to turn out the pre-stage bulb. When you see that bulb go out you know you are deep. Going deep can cause you to to "red light" on the start though. That is more common. Of course the person in the other lane has a big smile when you do it.

Thats what I was saying. Everyone is used to leaving on that last yellow light. But if your deep staged then your that much closer to that red.
