Remember that rotating weight will yield bigger differences than the same dead weight. Rims can make huge difference in how the car drives. Also, putting the brakes and rotors can have a good impact.

Right,

the general rule of thumb is for every 1lb of rotational mass you remove its equal to 10lbs of sprung weight.. this includes all moving parts of the car.

Pullies, flywheel, driveshaft, wheels, brakes. ETC

What about carbon fiber. The hood feels quite heavy. Im sure carbon fiber fenders, hood, trunk will def save some weight as well

we have aluminum hoods, the weight savings from a carbon fiber hood won't do much if any at all.

and to probinators comment.... weight savings will help with braking, turning, gas mileage and of course acceleration... more power will only help with 1 of those.

Actually, I've read it is 1lb of rotational mass removed equals 8lbs of sprung weight. Regardless, reducing rotational weight is still a good idea...

+1 on the hoods being aluminum. I did find a large reduction on my car. There where 2 large hunks of metal axle weights under my axle. I removed them when I put on the CHE LCA relocation brackets. The weights where 15lbs each 30 lbs TOTAL. These where not put on all the S197`S only 2005`s and some 2006`s.
