+100 on the DS. I'm currently running a 1-piece aluminum DS and there are no downsides to it - smoother shifting and the engine loves the reduced rotating mass during WOT shifts[8D]

I started taking parts out of my car, for the track I'm going to on Friday. Already took out my rear seat, brackets, and will take out all my trunk stuff, and my pass. seat next.

we have aluminum hoods, the weight savings from a carbon fiber hood won't do much if any at all.

and to probinators comment.... weight savings will help with braking, turning, gas mileage and of course acceleration... more power will only help with 1 of those.
+1 on the hoods being aluminum. I did find a large reduction on my car. There where 2 large hunks of metal axle weights under my axle. I removed them when I put on the CHE LCA relocation brackets. The weights where 15lbs each 30 lbs TOTAL. These where not put on all the S197`S only 2005`s and some 2006`s.

Wow, those are crazy! I bet it was Fords attempt at trying to reduce wheel hop. And to think that all they have to do is replace the stamped arms[:@]

40 pounds for back seat delete? That seems way high.

The factory panhard bar is hollow. How can it weigh more than an aftermarket solid steel bar?
The factory control arms are stamped steel, how can you find anything aftermarket lighter that those? They are like swiss cheese.

That's what I was thinking.

I would say just remove enough weight to make up the difference of the roll cage and be done with it.

My BMR adj. pandhard was slightly lighter.

The stocker is full of what sounds like sand. Muust be some kind of noise reducing beads

I added the Power HouseD/S and it helped . I think theK member from BMR is a goodmod to use to lighten up. Rims are another rotational mass that could be improved on. Greg Welds rims will be out in 4 to 5 weeks and they bolt right on.

It didn't take long maybe 15 mins., the bottom part just unclips then I took the bolts out and removed the fold down seat parts. I even took out the rear seat belts and the metal holder for the seats using a large torx bit.

backseats, seat belts, brackets... etc EVERYTHING back there, not just the seats themselves.

the factory panhard bar is filled with sand or somesort of material... this was established long ago that aftermarket pieces such as the BMR are indeed lighter.

i also vouch that tubular aftermarket LCAs are lighter than the stamped steel... a couple pounds atleast.
