First Brake/Oil/rubber smell

First Brake/Oil/rubber smell
Ok...just got back from the dealer - test drove a Black GT that had 4 miles on it. Coming back (after putting 2 more miles on it) a heavy brake/oil smell was everywhere. I couldn't make out just what it was - the sales guy said it may be the under coating of the hood. I could have been burnt rubber too but I didn't slam the brakes at all. In fact it may well have been a rubber smell.
I pushed it pretty hard down shifting in to 2nd going up a hill.
Any ideas?

RE: First Brake/Oil/rubber smell
My Saleen had a similar smell too. It didn't alarm me as I remembered this smell from the days of my dad bringing home a brand new vehicle once a year. It was gone after about 100 miles. Think of it as that "brand new car" smell, only on the outside
Could be a number of things from the brakes, to the metal/rubber/plastic "burning in" under the hood, to any rust inhibitor coatings, etc.
