If money is not a problem for you, do what you want.
If you have some insecurities about spending, then wait. A few good things are on the horizon for car guys. I cant see spending $5k on a S/C, when you KNOW you are itching to trade the car off.

I guess the best gift any Mustang owner can give themselves in this economy is having the title to their Mustang. Better than the very best and most expensive mod!

The 2010 GT “reveal” solved the dilemma of “what to do”.

2009 GT Premium (looks like it will be the last year of the best)
Silver with charcoal
Five speed manual
Security Package
3.55 Limited Slip
HID Headlamps
Comfort Group
18” Polished Aluminum wheels

And the standard Premium features for 09:
Spoiler
IUP
Sirius
Ambient
Satin Aluminum panel

It was hard to find one with the color and build I wanted, e.g. 3.55s, manual transmission, no glass top, etc. There were no cars in state with the build I wanted so is coming from North Carolina and will be here Monday. Comes with the title too!

My personal stimulus package for Ford!

The stock Ford photos below but less the glass top.

But after more research I discovered that it’s so darn heavy that it’s hardly faster than the 300 HP Mustangs. It does have a six speed manual though and that’s a big plus. The Camaro will have some HP but I don’t care for the design work. My other thought is to drop a blower on my current engine but it seems like that would be money that would be lost and in the end lower my resale value. How great do you all think the 2010 Mustang will be? Will they mess up the design with funky design stuff? Well it have 400 HP? A six speed manual?
Skip getting another car. Use the money to upgrade the current one!

Yes the cash is gone but Ford needs our support more than ever now! Makes you feel like a real patriotic American to buy a new Mustang and I think the economy will recover well but slowly. The 09 comes with a title though so no payments to worry about.

Went back to the Ford dealer today to relook at one of the silver GTs they had. The 09 brilliant silver metallic with clear coat is really beautiful. Can’t wait to see my new GT Monday.

The 09 GT is home and she is beautiful! The dealer had to bring it all the way from Durham, NC and then fly the driver back to Durham last night. It was supposed to be here in the afternoon but it didn’t arrive until late and it was raining so I haven’t had an opportunity to see it in daylight. But the Brilliant Silver is stunning in the dark. Waiting for it all yesterday afternoon and evening was agonizing!

Spent some time last night installing the plenum cover from my old car and learning about the new features. One thing that surprised me immediately is how quite it is, not the exhaust sound, but the body sound deading. My old one had kind of a hollow sound but this one is a solid and quite. They must have done more work on sound deading. Pretty cool for sure!

unless you are a fan of car payments, start playing with it. A blower will easily get you over 400 hp and well into the 12s
