Default Mustang 2008 pricing

Hi I'm new to this forum and new to Mustangs...I've been wanting a Mustang for years now and have finally saved up enough to buy one. I was looking at a 2008 Mustang V6 Coupe, automatic, pony package, cloth seats (those are the only extras or non extras with the cloth seats I noticed on the fact sheet at the dealership). However, I'm confused with the pricing, am I getting ripped off or is this a good deal...what the dealership offered in Cdn pricing...their price was around $26,000. After the family pricing and other discounts the total came to $22,800...he said there is no negotiating after that...that was their final offer...wanted to know if you guys think that was a good deal? $22,800 is before taxes...

I'm thinking if they are giving you a price that is the A-Plan price and the incentives to boot, I can't see how you can get a better deal unless you find a low mileage used car. Also, I wasn't aware that Ford was offering the family plan pricing (maybe it's just in Canada right now). I was going to buy a Ranger but thought I missed the plan offering already. Can anyone clarify the availability of the family plan pricing on Ford vehicle in the US. Good luck in your purchase.

If you buy a used GT with low miles, you will save big time. My brother got a 2006 GT with 13k miles, 22k (about) for a fully loaded GT, with extended powertrain warranty to 75k. Shop around, bull**** sales people of a lowered price car you found somewhere else and you can always lower it even more. good luck.

Thanks guys...I thought maybe being a girl, they may have tried to rip me off...but yeah I think I'll look around or even just invest in a 2009 since the price difference wasn't a whole lot for a basic model...car shopping is so frusterating especially when you're set on what you want and the sales people are always trying to show you something else or taking your attention towards something different...

Knowing what you want takes some of the edge off of buying a car. If the salesman drifts off course with you, just remember the word, "No". Take what your being shown into consideration only as an option. If you genuinely like the alternatives you are being shown, then its all good. When it comes down to it, you should get what YOU want, dont simply settle for what the salesman wants to clear off the lot.

The thing is there is ALWAYS negotiating after what they say. Dont get pushed around. Offer 22k OTD. If they say no, different dealer time!

Eesh, man. I don't think that's too good of a deal for you. I just got my own 2009 V6 Pony Package (Leather interior, ABS, Alarm, Shaker 500, and Ambient Lighting) finalized today, and with my D-Plan, and -$500 from the dealer thanks to a special, the final price came out just above $21,000.

I'd try to negotiate for a lower price on that, and if you that doesn't work out for you, I'd check out another dealer's options. I could be wrong on the price of your '08 being too high, but good luck with whatever you decide.
