pure laziness.
and the fact that their is no such switch.

Their is no switch that is designed for manuals. Their is a neutral safety and prndl switch for auto's and manuals have clutch switch's.

I have remote start on my manual GT. I've had it for over 6 months now. Paid $350 for the full alarm system + remote start. I know it is dangerous, believe me I know. When I first got it, I took the car in after getting rims and tires to get it done at Wheel Works. When I went to pick the car up, me being stupid and not thinking about the fact that someone was in my car, I remote started it. They left it in gear and it jumped a curb and hit a chain link fence, the front bumper has some scratches and the very tip of the bumper has a little dent in it. Lesson learned, I haven't had a problem since, and I use the remote start EVERY day. I say if you want it, go for it, just be careful and don't make stupid mistakes like me

I know there is no such switch on the S197.
Nessecity is the mother of invention.
I see it being done rather easy with a reed swich and a magnet
from the underside of the vehicle on the shifter linkage.
But hey, leave it in gear just one time......

I've heard of a set up that is for manuals.
It works something like this if memory serves me.
In order for it to activate, you must 1st confirm to the system that the car is in neutral. To do this, you park the car, put it in neutral, set the e-brake, then hit the button on the remote. That will shut the car off, and activate the remote starter to allow remote start when you want it.
This must be done every time you get out of the car tho.

I dont know how a remote start works exactly but could it in a sense turn it into full accessory and somehow tell what gear it is in... If it is in neutral it will go ahead and start else if in anything else it will just shut the system off? Im sure this has been thought of but I had to ask
