I wonder if over on the F150 boards if guys who buy 4.6L 4X2's get ripped by the guys that buy 5.4L 4X4's ....

Seriously .. why do all the mightier than thou GT owners feel that nobody buys a Mustang merely because it's a Mustang and they want a sporty 2-door rear wheel drive Pony car to cruise around in?

Do GT owners have an inferiority complex when they see a GT 500 on the street or do you guys just shake it off and chalk it up as " well that guy paid $20,000 more than my GT so I don't care he has 200 more HP" ...

Oh hell yeah the v8 truck owners make fun of the v6 guys. 4x4 vs 4x2, not so much since we don't have snow. The guys at my job that have v6 trucks used to get laughed at all the time. It was always in fun, but they were still picked on. With gas prices where they are now, the v6 guys have something to fight back with.

Also, about the price difference. Used GT's and V6's aren't very far apart from one another. I got my 05 for $20k over a year ago. Had 10k miles on it. Comparable V6's were $17-18k. $3k was worth the V8 to me.

Why did you get a V6? It obviously wasn't for the pony grill.

How much did that GT500 chin spoiler cost you if you dont mind me asking? Sorry if thats a little off topic but I really want one

And why would you get the v6 if you wanted retro? When you think of mustang you think of v8! If you really wanted those bumpers you could have had your v8 and the fugly bumpers

Cobra chin retails for $80. Still cheap.

BTW, Mustangs had the 6 cyl option from day one.

Very true. Probably part of the reason why mustangs weren't considered fast or muscle cars when they first came out.

the foglights issue really makes me wonder. heck if you want, i can send whoever wanted the foglightless front end my overlay from the stock shelby gt. its billit, i wanted the black one to match the windows and lights. an overlay is less than 100$, so i hardly think of it as a reason to justify a v6 purchase over the 8.

i love when these threads are made. shows what inferiority both sides really have. v6 or v8, who gives a damn, it's still a mustang.

Ok so first off I just wanna say that I have to agree with the GT guys here in saying that the only thing the V6 has on the GT is a lower price. I'd have a GT but I'm 18 and my insurance would be more ridiculous than it is now and it's already more than my parents combined.

On the other hand not everybody buys a mustang for the power some people just like the looks and are never gonna take the car to the track so where are you really gonna use the power. And as for the V6 being a ***** repellent, most chicks do not know the difference, hell not even all guys know, I get asked everyday if my car is a GT. Besides if you dress a V6 up a little bit they don't even care. I've had this car through one year of high school and now in college and not once has a chick liked my car at first then walked away in disgust when she found out it's "only a V6".

And as long as everyone's making petty little arguements I'll throw this one out there to all those GT owners with an auto transmission. If you're gonna pull the 'real muscle car' bs then learn to shift. The Shelby GT500 is as real as it gets and doesn't even offer auto. Think about that.

Price, price, price is the main thing why people get the v6!!
I bought my GT cause i love to go fast and look good doing it!! (manual trans BTW^^^)
If i just wanted to look good i would of just gotten a sixxer and put the GT bumpers but theres nothing like hearing the V8 start up early in the morning when going to work!! AHHHHHH...... it's better than coffee to wake you up!!
