Default SS Inserts

Actually, I had a very good experience with them. I bought a chrome plated billet fuel door. It was installed for "about" a year, including a winter. I noticed the chrome was beginning to bubble. After trying a long time, I finally remembered I bought it from SS Inserts. I called them, told them my story. I didn't have my sales reciept or anything. They went back in their computer, found my order (out of warranty). They asked if I'd send it to them, and they'd take care of it.

Some time later, I get a call. They said the problem was the salt used on the roads here in Ohio. The guy asked if I'd settle for an anodized door that would stand up to the salt forever. I said I would and a few days later a new door showed up on my porch.

I am not doubting your horror story, but I, for one, had a great experience.

Here is my horror story with SSINSERTS, I will never buy anything from them again.

This is a message to all people who may want to purchase items from ssinserts. I recently purchased a stainless header plate for my 07 GT500, and I received today. I pulled it out of the box, and went to lay it on the front to see what it really looked like, I was not happy with it. I called ssinserts and was greated with only a hello, NO business name, nor persons name, when I explained that I had ordered the stainless header plate for my car and was not happy with it, and was told in a very stern voice that I had not installed it correctly. I then told the person on the other end of the phone that I had not even installed it, and I wasn't even sure who I was talking to, as he didn't even state the company, nor his name. I was then told "FU&* YOU" and was hung up on.

I have purchased items from them before, and was very happy with them, but after this episode it will be the last time I ever deal with them again. There are plenty of other companies out there for mustang parts. I'm only writting this as I feel other people need to know how I was treated, and they may be next. I'm not telling anyone not to purchase items from them, only be carefull if you have to return it.

Sounds like maybe they have a rogue customer service agent. Maybe someone should track down a higher up and alert them.

Its a shame how you were mistreated. I wonder sometimes how people stay in business. I guess in the computer age we are in, so many companies are out there and do not necessarily have to deal one on one with customers, as the orders just come in electronically, and when they actually are faced with a situation, they dont know how to properly handle a situation. This $20 difference could have actually been a good thing for this outfit. He could have knocked it off and maybe thrown in free shipping to fix a bad problem and make it better and gotten some positive free advertising.
