Default Drivetrain Noise

So after I got my gears installed, I had a droning vibration at around 60-65 mph and now after a couple of weeks, I have a higher pitched whirling noise that starts around 35 mph and gets higher and higher pitched the faster I drive. I assume its in the drive shaft, but what can I do about it?

I'd say go back to where the gears were installed. Sounds like they weren't installed properly.

Well i thought gear whine sounded like the whirling noise you hear driving in reverse in asian cars, like high pitched whining. This doesnt sound like that and the high pitch noise goes away over 55 mph.

i would bet the house that it is gear whine from what you describe...did you use Motive gears? i have heard everything from a slight whine to obnoxious. i would take it back to whomever installed the gears and let them hear it..more than likely, you are going to get the run around and everything blamed on you, but i would take it back to the installer...did you allow for a proper break-in period.......imo, if you have a stock d/s, that is not where the noise is coming from

if the whine constant then the install needs to be checked
