Default Stock 06 GT Wheels painted black?

I have been looking at the Bullit 17's that are black and noticed they are pretty much the same as the stock rims they are just painted black.... I was wondering if it would make sense to just paint the stock rims black.... if so is it something that I could probably do myself and have it still look pretty damn good? If so how would I go about doing it? I just dont see the point in spending almost 2 grand just to change the color of my rims... lol

they look ok if you do it yourself
have you asked around about how much it would be at a shop?
you would just and them down with sand paper and paint them

In order for them to have the shine I would have to use clearcoat right?

I was thinking of getting mine powder coated black - I looked into it and it didn't seem that expensive (less than a grand) but as with everything by me there isn't anywhere to take them

Powder coating sound good but wait until you see the cost!

Best to just take your time and paint them yourself:

Just be sure to clearcoat them and take care when cleaning them.

As long as you took your time, I think they would come out fine. I plan on doing this to my bullits that have my MT ET streets on them.

yeah thats what im thinking about doing too. So if they dont look the best they will only be used at the track and since my car will look funny enough with spare rims on the front.
