HID kit problem,Please help
Ok.
I installed a 35w HID kit into an 07 Mustang using a relay harness. They are a single beam kit using an H1 rebased HID bulbs in a projector housing. Here are the aftermarket lamps being used

In the American Muscle ad,it says they are not compatible with HID,it is because the projector bowel won't accept the bulb and ground strap...I used a dremel tool on the bowel for the ground strap to slide into place and did the washer mod between the two halves of the projector.Fitment is perfect with .003" clearance for the ground strap on the bulb.
Now comes the problem...I can turn on the lights without the engine running and they stay on until the vehicle battery saver turns them off..
If the engine is running however, the lights flicker and shut off with 20 seconds...
I have tested the battery as I know that can cause problems with voltage.
12.8v not running,14.7 while running.
I am completely stumped......
I have done probably 100 or so HID installs, either doing a plug-n-play kit or doing a full retrofit and I have never run into something like this.
Any help would be completely appreciated.

+1 you are overheating something with the car (alternator) running. Check your ballast AND your relay I don't think it would be a ground strap as the problem would present itself both with and without the engine running. I'm thinking the relay is wired wrong as in backwards. you have the switch side running off the battery instead of the ignition like it should be.
Check to see if the relay is making noise when the headlights start to flicker and also check the voltage on teh current side of it. If its' fluctuating or there's no current registering after the lights turn themselves off while running, try swapping your ignition side with your battery side.

with the newer stangs (yours) some people have been running into an issue with the car thinking there is a problem with the lights and thus turning them off for safety... i guess...
anyway, if you do some searching in google for your issue and newer stangs you will find other people basically resolving the issue by having to purchase a different relay/harness. some companies that you purchase the kit from will send you the correct relay for no charge, others may not even know what youre talking about. if you contact stangmods.com or maybe sharphid.com they will be able to point you in the right direction. for example, my wife's S40 will need a separate BOW relay (bulb out warning) so hers will stay on and keep the BOW light from being tripped in the dash.
hope this helps, youre not the only one having this problem. luckily i didnt have to worry about this on mine
Voltage is at 14.7 while vehicle is running.
This is a reply I got over on the HIDplanet forums in reference to using 55w ballasts...
"i bet it might, but those claimed 55w really only draw 45w or less in most cases. you might wanna search around the forums, some people say they fixed it but i cant remember how. alot of times it requires an ecu reflash which only works for cars that have hid as factory option."
Has anyone had to reflash an ECU to get HID's to work?

Now when the lights turn on and the igniton running, the relay on the harness starts buzzing very loudly....but with the engine off...no sound and it works flawlessly until the battery minder shuts it off.
here is what ive read so far in doing research for mine and my wife's S40.
