Eagle #1 Nascar Tires
#11
Thanks for your comments Norm!
I found a pdf online from BF Goodrich with ALL the sizes they make:
http://www.buywheelstoday.com/info/d...d.asp?id=3212#
And you'll love this "Tyre Bible" if you don't already have it: http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html
Looks like it would be best for me to go with the Goodyears.. they're quite close to stock diameter and the width is fine @ 225/60/R16. They'll see me thru the Winter nicely while I'm researching my wheels/tires to be purchased in the Spring.

Thanks for the info, Norm. I've read many reviews about the Eagle #1 tires and they're pretty much mediocre. I'm BONE STOCK at the moment and i'm just concentrating on appearance mods, hence the subject
I called a guy at a local tire shop and they want $799 after everything, including mounting, balancing, etc...For that price I could easily get some GT take off rim/tire package for a little bit cheaper. BUT, I'm falling in love with the look of the white letters. Like I said, i'll wait till I slap on my chin and a new spoiler before i decide. Thanks again!

They would be a decent choice for the 6'r in my opinion.
I have run the Nascar/Eagle GTII tire for years on my Tbird.
GTII and the Eagle #1 Nascar are the same tire besides the word Nascar.
They are basically an economy performance tire, not speed rated over 118 mph.
The whole GTII line has been discontinued. Not sure on how long they will run the Nascars. The only reason they still have that one size is for the Jeff Gordon Edition Monte Carlo SS comes stock with them.
I had the yellow letter ones, and the white letter ones

Don't know why, but they're supposed to be getting the text justify fixed - there is a thread in the 'Feedback' forum already and the mods have responded. But if it takes as long as it did to get the double-the-apostrophe-count-every-time fixed it could be a while.
Just go to 'Go Advanced' on your reply and do the LJ manually with the icon. You can fix your sig the same way in your user CP.
iROK - Thanks for the links. I think I've seen the second one before, but didn't keep a copy. There's a lot of good information in it, and right away I only see a couple of items that aren't quite correct (vertical and fore/aft loads are taken in friction developed from lug nut torque/lug clamping force, and contact patch area is not nearly as simple as Weight ÷ Inflation Pressure). FWIW, tire revs per mile are about 3 to 3.5% higher than what you'd calculate from the unloaded diameter (at least for reasonable inflation pressures).

That would be a DEAL! Unfortunatly, I live in the Monterey area. But thanks though I've always been a fan of the yellow lettering also.

Tirerack.com quoted $560 including shipping on 4 Goodyear Eagle #1 Nascars in 225/60/R16.
I don't know how much it would run me for mounting & balancing, etc. once I have them.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger & order these as my winter tires... I'll let you guys know what kind of deal I can negotiate. Thanks for all the help!
