Default Smoked Light Covers

Hey guys, i was wondering if anybody had any experience with the smoked headlight/tail light/fog light covers sold at places such as Brenspeed or Americanmuscle. I take it they are easy to install, but im worrying about visibility issues, is there any difference or would it be smart to change out to HID lights? I'm pretty sure theyre illegal so has anybody had any cop trouble with them?

Thanks guys, gotta do something reasonably priced to set my car apart from the others

a lot of ppl have installed them with Velcro...that way u can take it on and off whenever u want...they say the covers dim ur lights...put in a set of silverstars or just take them off at night...

You're better off going with tint on your lights. Those plastic covers dont look nearly as good as tinted lights IMO. You could run into problems with the cops depending what they're like in your area so theres always that risk. Upgrading to HIDs is always a good idea, especially in this case...

I've got the taillight covers and I think they look great! I take them off if I'm going on road trips, or if I know that I'll be consuming any amount of alcoholic beverages and I'll be far from home...all it takes is an excuse for them to pull you over, and 2 beers later you're locked up!

They're easy to install, and easily removed...how can you lose?

hmm velcro would be a good idea but i would worry about them being stolen. Changing out the lights works for the headlights but do they have them for the foglights and tail lights? I dont think theyre too big of an issue to install either.

Yea tint would look better but then if you get pulled over then youre kinda screwed, and i dont know how much it would cost for those.

I do think the visibility is the biggest issue though, on the off chance i did get pulled over for having them i could atleast say i had HIDs to balance it out, and chances are they would be far better than stock even with the covers on.

i have covers for the headlight, since the tint will block a lot of the light out, and everything else i have tinted..

i had them and i ditched them, they do look pretty good but to me they look bulgy
my pair of headlight ones i got didnt fit all that fantastic, in the end for the taillights i just went ahead ad got them sprayed, me and buddys found out the combo to make the paint our selves so mine was free haha,

but if you do go for them the taillights you can keep on at all times even when i got pulled over for them he just told me to step on the brake while he looked to make sure there was sufficient light showing through, but definetly take the headlights off at night you cant see jack $hit
