Default chipping caliper paint..

..so i don't know if any of you that have painted your calipers have run into this problem yet or at all.. but the paint on my calipers has started to chip and crack a bit and i can't find out why! and i used the caliper paint specifically, any ideas how to prevent this in the future?

I take SOOOOO much care of my calipers it's sick. The rears are hand painted by me so I know I have the dsame paint to fill in chips etc but the front Brembos are factory Red. You can imagine my horror when, despite my pleading for care, a wheel shop knocked the wheel onto a caliper chipping it in three places as they refitted the wheel following a routine wheel balance.

My rears are almost gone, the fronts however are perfect.

I found that a little strange.

My rears create huge amounts of dust while my fronts don't, the complete opposite of my F150. I wonder if soft/hard rotors/pads or a variation of them create more heat in the rears.

What type of paint did you guys use? Eastwood, Duplicolor, G2?

Back in 2006, I used dupli-color...applied many coats. Here we are 2+ years later and no chips or nothing...other than dust, no problems. The caliper were very clean prior application tho...
