2009 Mustang Sync Option
302me - Did you get the F90bt online or at a local retailer? I'm looking at that one but locally they are charging as low as $999 (on sale) or $1199 at the 2 places I see it locally, but as low as around $660 online. The 2 shops that have it here locally would charge up to $250 to install it too
. I'd consider installing it myself but I don't want to be the one responsible for ruining my dash or trim.

I just installed sync in my 09 GT premium yesterday, got my phone and zune hooked up, and can control everything through the radio. For the life of me, i can't get the voice activated controls to work at all, though. nothing on the 3 button pad registers at all with the radio. do you have the same issue? i know it wasn't supposed to work with nav, but i'm nav-less and upset right now.
To get all the features to work you will need to take it to the dealer and have them program it. They use a laptop computer with a USB cable connection and service port connection, then they connect to the Ford website, enter your vin, download some software and config the system. I bought my sync from my Ford dealer and they had an outside installer do all the work. I have a shaker 500. I believe it only works with the 500 and 1000. I think is cost was about $625.

Absolutely!! I had them mount the control in the factory recommended position in the open area no the top left of the piece that goes around the radio. I asked them drill a hole in the cover piece so the cable would exit under the control.
I also had them put the mic as far up on the left pillar cover as possible and up against the windshield. It is almost invisible there but fairly close to your head. The voice commands work extremely well. It is somewhat amazing! Here is some more info http://www.syncmyride.com/Own/Module...oryPhones.aspx
I’m using a Widows Mobile driven PDA phone and the Bluetooth connectivity is very solid and clear.

After playing with it some I decided not to use my Zune with it and just got a big thumb drive. Got tired of taking the Zune in and out of the car. I just copied all the audio files off our home media server on to the thumb drive and leave the drive in the car. As we add more CDs to our home media server I copy them over to the car thumb drive. I posted instructions on the syncmyride.com web site that explains how to edit play lists made by Windows Media Player so they will work with sync.
Seldom if ever use the CD player in the car anymore!

Glad to hear everyone loves their Sync. My 09 has the SYNC option, I don't know anything more then that. I have the Mobile Ease Bluetooth which is crystal clear and I have the TripTunes which is where the plug in the center console is for your iPod, I use my iTouch and it charges it as well as I can control through the head unit, wheather I want to scroll by my playlist/artist/song etc...
Where is the USB drive located? In center console?
