how do they do it?

They are probably owned and driven by middle aged women who don't care about extra power/performance or even appearance customization. Nothing against middle aged women owning mustangs, though. lol.... I've just noticed in my area that is the majority of mustang owners.

The people that mod their stang and are on this forum are a small % of the mustangs sold. Also the world of aftermarket "exterior" is fairly new. Back in the day what was underneath the hood of cars was the focus of modding more or less.

Back in the day, most the modders where people who wanted to out run the police, get as much power as they could, or they were draggers.. Well lets face it, gas was cheaper compared to todays gas prices.. Most Mustangs i see are STOCK.. Why fix something that ain't broken?? But some like most the members on the forum want more than just a Mustang.. Which either way is fine.. Its their car why not have it the way they want it. Ya know?? Just my thoughts..

Some people prefer to focus only on the performance aspects by moding only stuff that adds performance, engine power train, suspension, etc. Be careful, some of the stock looking Mustangs are sleepers and they will eat your lunch. 20” wheels and stick on stuff just adds weight and kills performance.

Stock? What's stock? Do you mean that time between the dealer and the shop?
My first 2 cars were Jeep Cherokees. Nice, but just a car. I saw no reason to mod it. On the other hand, a Jeep is no Mustang...
