Well, you were driving a stock GT. The first must-have mod for any GT is a CAI and tune from Brenspeed. It completely changed my car in to a beast (plus a couple of other little mods).

Also, you would need to get stingers or some other aggressive axle-back exhaust for the sound you are going after.

Yeah, I hope so. He was telling me all about the car and all this stuff but he never told me to punch it. I don't know, he seemed kind of up tight about a 17 year old driving a $28,000 car. So, I hope that was why. I was amazed that it was quieter than my V6. My V6 has a stock exhaust and it is louder. I assume it is due to the newer year. Maybe it has better sound insulation...IDK, but I prefered the sound of my V6. It was also weird how different the clutch felt. It was so much softer than my V6. IDK, please keep the opinions coming so I can get a better idea of whether it is worth it or not. I assume the issue with the test drive was all in the way I drove the car...

I would go with Gt, I am, I was asking this same question a month ago I went from wanting a 2009 v6 to a used Gt and I am glad i looked into the Gt any day now i will be taking my road trip in a beater and coming back with a Gt, Im 18 and the insurance and the car will be in my dads name, but i will be signing the check, its amazing how his insurance is like 10 bucks (kidding) compared to mine being a couple thousand (not kidding)

So I think I'm going to go with the GT. Even if I don't feel the power stock, I'm still starting with a much better base for future mods. There is just so many things that I want to do once I get the car that it is tough to decide where to start. I guess I'll just get the car and go from there...

Step 1: Get my V6 front end fixed.
Step 2: Sell my V6 for a good price.
Step 3: Buy my GT at a good price.
Step 4: Work my *** off...

I think you are making a good choice.

I flew up to my S. Carolina home for Christmas and ended up renting a base automatic V6 Mustang for the weekend. I was impressed with the power and way the car rides, but it is far different than my manual GT. It works well as basic transportation, but the GT has a great muscle car feel to it. It accelerates, handles, and SOUNDS better IMO.

If you can, get a GT with the IUP and the premeir trim package. These packages really change the look and fell of the interior!

Good luck!
