Default Bargain tires

I'm getting close to 50K miles on my 07 GT now, and I'm still running the original 17" stock tires. It's a daily driver. That's why it has 50K miles on it already. When I do finally have to replace the tires, I want to go with 255's, which as I understand it, is really the widest that should go on those stock wheels. If I had lots of the green stuff, I'd probably replace them with some really wide wheels and tires. Or I'd at least go with the very best 255's. But that's not the case. So my question is, what tires are good all around tires that are a bargain? I don't mean what's on sale, necessarily. I'm asking which tires give really good performance for the price.

I was considering Riken tires. They make a 255/50/17 for our cars. They are made by BFG. Summit has 255/50/17 for 99.95 each and discount tires has them for 121.00 each. Here is the link to Summit.

If you don't mind a mediocre tire, Tirerack has the OEM BFG KDWS but in 255/45/17 for $80 each. Those were my stock tires (except mine were the 235/50/18's) and were adequate for granny driving.
