Dyno Disappointment
I finally got my car dyno tuned and I was excited to see my numbers especially after the cam install. It's an 07 GT Auto
My mods are as follows
FRPP Hot Rod Cams
C&L intake
SLP Headers
SLP x pipe with high flow cats
Mac Mufllers
3:73's
Prothane motor mounts
I'm running 93 octane because of the cams and the tuning was done by JPC so I know they know what they are doing. Anyway I ended up only having 287 rwhp which is pretty disappointing. I'm even more upset that I now only get 14.2 mpg. I wouldn't care about that if I had the HP numbers to justify that gas mileage.
What do you guys think?

I'm no expert but based on what you list I would have though you would have been over 300BHP....
Maybe speak with Bamachips or Brenspeed and see what numbers they can put out with your setup.... I'm not that familiar with JPC but if you say they know what they are doing them I'm sure they do but it never hurts to ask around.....
Oh and was it dyno tuned or was it a more generic tune?

What kind of dyno? Reputable shop? Air flow? Weather factored? There are a lot of variables... Just with your mods before the cams you should have more that that.
And as state above can vs dyno tune is a HUGE difference.

With Just UDPs, C&L street intake, Bame 93 race tune and magnaflow off X with muffs and Royal purple oils... 310 RWHP....No BS....2005..AUTO...Since then new convertor, Headers going in this week ..oh ya .. forgot about the 100 shot. need to dyno with that too.
I think you are suffering somewhere....sounds way too low

ok, dont get too hung up on dyno numbers first off....they are there for tuning purposes...however with that being said I can see your frustration and understand it...the shop you went to do they have experience with dyno tuning s197....do they know that you must dyno in 4th gear...(I ask this because I went a long time ago to a shop that was not familiar with this and read in 3rd gear) other than that..I assume the altitude was not a factor nor the temp....but your numbers seem low
with my 05 gt auto tranny: I was getting 300.8 rwhp and 304 torque with C&L STREET CAI, kooks LT Headers with high flow cats and a evolution performance canned tune....so something does not seem right..now I know different dynos, different days etc....but still you see real low..my car was stock at 257.94 rwhp and 268 torque...how does the car feel..does it feel faster...is it sluggish at all..what was your a/f...do you have the dyno sheets to post?
