Good point. I forgot to mention replacing the stock battery. Optima or Odyssey both make good replacements.

I still wouldn't waste money on a cap though. If the Big 3 and better battery don't solve your problem, a larger alternator is your only true solution. A cap won't cut the mustard.

meh, I have never had a problem in my cars or peoples cars I have done them in, even with out big 3. I usualy run a good amount of power too. I agree though, the only REAL solution is a big enough alternator to support the load, but both extra batteries or caps will usualy hold you is because most arnt doing a sustanied tone long enough to deplete all that juice. Hence where this system came from, it was out of my 06 Civic when it was still brand new, and I wanted a deep enough reserve that it wouldnt imideatly drain the rest of my system. so where 1 farad would do, I used 3. Like I said, it was cheap too. Big 3 is really only cheaper if you have some cable, and battery terminals laying around, and can do the work yourself. Shops usualy try to rip you off at like $4 a foot for good 4 gauge, and like 30 for the terminal, then thell charge you at least an hour of install...

Obviously your pretty handy with the stereo stuff too, and like me you probably have tons of extra wire, connectors, and terminals laying around, but cost for this mod goes way up if your having it done for you with no materials in hand.
