not the normal 91/93 octane question
Is it my imagination, or does the car run "better" on 93 gas then 89 or 87?
Now I know I only had this car for less than one month, but it seems that way. Also, its not just one gas vendor, or even one gas station. Quite honestly it happens no matter where I go.
I know the manual says 87, but my co-worker said that the mustang has adaptive tuning to accommodate for the 93 octane gas (change timing, spark advance, and etc) - is this true?

your co worker is talking about the current bullitt and the 2010 that will be out soon
05-09 (besides the bullitt) do not have adaptive tuning
and yes it is your imagination
get a cai and tune. in the mean time, just fill it with 87 and stop wasting money

Before the 2005 model was released, Ford did have adaptive tuning but for some reason took it out in the production model. I don't know if they were having problems with it but it would have been cool if it was kept in.

I have heard people say that most modern cars have adaptive tuning and will benefit from higher octane fuel.
A friend of mine drives an 05 WRX and swears to me that the car runs better on 93 without having to load a specific tune for it. I have another friend with an SX4 suzuki that says the same. He also tells me his lawn mower works "much" better with 93.
YMMV.
